Guide: Creating & Using Saved Views

Saved Views are a powerful feature that allows you to save a set of filters on a report, so you can quickly access that specific data view again without having to re-apply the filters in every instance.

Part 1: Creating Your Saved View

Follow these steps to create and save a custom view of your report data.

1. Start with a Filter

  • Navigate to the report you want to work with (e.g., Financial Report).

  • Click the "Filters" button to open the filter options.

  • Define the conditions for the data you want to see.

  • Example: To see all gifts greater than $5,000, you would set the column to Amount, the operator to >, and the condition to 5000.

Note: The column names in the filter dropdown might differ slightly from the column headers in the report itself (e.g., Fund Name in the filter vs. Campaign in the report). The filter uses the column name from the base dataset rather than the name present in the view. If you would like to learn more about our reporting tool, we have documentation as well as a number of videos you can view.

2. Apply and Save the View

  • Once your filter condition is set, click "OK" and then the green "Apply Filters" button. The report will update to show the filtered data.

  • Above the applied filter, you will see a blue ribbon (Save This View). Click it.

3. Name Your View

  • A prompt will appear. Enter a clear and descriptive name for your view that will help you remember what it shows.

  • Example: "Gifts Greater Than $5000"

Part 2: Using and Managing Your Saved Views

Once saved, your custom views are easy to access and manage.

1. Accessing a Saved View

  • On the main report page, click the "Saved Views" button (located next to "Filters").

  • A dropdown menu will appear listing all of your saved views.

  • Simply click on the name of the view you want to apply.

2. Combining Filters

  • You can use your Saved Views in combination with the quick filters at the top of the report (like Campaign or Date Range).

  • You can also create a Saved View that contains multiple conditions (e.g., Amount > 5000 AND Fund Name contains Sharpe).

3. Removing a Filter or View

  • To remove the filters applied by a Saved View, simply click the "Remove group" icon (the red 'X') on the filter itself.

  • To permanently delete a Saved View, click the "Saved Views" button and click the x next to the view name in the dropdown list.

  • Upon clicking the “” you will be prompted with a pop-up box to confirm the action of deleting the saved view.

Note: This action is global and will remove the saved view for all users
