Importing Data Groups

Add Data Group Values

1. Open the Data Groups component in Site Stacker admin under the Data Tools component.



2. Click on the Add button at the top-left of the window.

3. Specify the Name of your data group. Note: Don't worry about the alias as it will be automatically generated as you type in the name.



4. Right-click your Data Group and choose the Manage Fields option.

5. Configure the fields you want to be available to you in the data group.



6. Specify the Type. This can be text, date, integer, text area, etc.

7. The Label is the name of your data group field.

8. The Alias will again be automatically generated as you type the Label.

9. You will want to specify if this data group should be required by the user to check, if it should be searchable and if it should show in a grid (ex. Dashboard).

10. You will also need to choose a Is Display Field. This is what the user will see displayed to them. For example, if you configure five fields, only one of the five fields will be presented to the user, in admin or frontside UI.

11. Once your fields are specified, you can then add data group values. The fields you just configured are available for you to input values. You can also specify an external ID for importing your data group values.



Importing Data Groups

1. Configure data group in the Data Group component

2. Once your data group is configured you will find a template in the Import component Documentation tab.



3. To import to your data group, you will need to provide an external ID. This must be a unique identifier. If you provide an external ID, you can then use this external ID to import data group values to your entities.

4. You will need to specify a value with a type that matches the type you configured in your data group.

5. You can then import these values to your data group.


Importing a Data Group Entity

1. Open the Data Groups component. Find the data group whose values you want to import.

2. Expose the hidden ID column. You can do this by hovering over the column and clicking the dropdown arrow and under Columns, checking the box labeled ID.



3. Go the the Import component and find the entity you configured with the data group.

4. You will need to specify the ID or external ID for each value you wish to import to the entity on the CRM record.
